Adult day center relocates to Sarasota space for $2.8 million

The renovations for the tropical-themed spot are expected to cost an additional $2 million.

An adult day center is officially moving its headquarters to Sarasota after an almost two-year search for the perfect location.

The ActivAge franchise acquired a 16,000-square-foot spot at 3801 Bee Ridge Road for $2.8 million. A spokesperson for the brand confirmed the headquarters will occupy about 68% of the total building. The renovations of the space will cost an approximate additional $2 million.

“Once renovations are complete, the building will be unrecognizable,” founder and CEO Kris Chana says in a release. “As our franchise system continues to grow, we will need a more advanced training facility to support our franchise partners. We feel the most important investment we can make is in training and coaching them to be successful.”

The company was founded in Port Charlotte more than 10 years ago by Chana and his wife, Chelsea. The concept is a tropical themed adult day center where senior and family caregivers can visit for “daycations.”

The new headquarters is expected to resemble a Margaritaville Resort exterior with 8,000 square feet dedicated to the adult day center, a 3,000-square-foot headquarter space and a content studio that will house the company’s activity engagement platform.

“Our onboarding, training and franchise support team is the fastest growing part of our company,” Chana says. “This additional space will serve two purposes. First, we will open a next generation adult day club which will become our flagship location and training center. Second, we’ll be hiring additional team members to support, train and coach our franchisees as they prepare to open their own locations across the country.”

The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
