Tampa-based Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union will now be known as Trax Credit Union.

TAMPA — Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Tampa, has changed its name to Trax Credit Union and adopted a new logo.

According to a news release, the credit union’s board of directors and leadership team approved the brand makeover in late August, and it became official on Tuesday. The change modernizes the 41,000-member institution’s brand identity while staying true to its railroad roots.

“Our credit union has been serving members for more than 85 years,” Trax Credit Union CEO Pete Giorgianni states in the release. “Along the way, we’ve seen the community change a lot. We decided to change our name to be more inclusive of all of our select employee groups and position us to serve generations to come.”

Founded in 1935 by a group of railroad workers, Trax Credit Union boasts more than $440 million in assets and operates nine branches throughout Hillsborough, Polk and Pasco Counties.

“Our members’ success is our success,” Trax Marketing Director Jessica Stevenson states in the release. “This new brand identity speaks to our commitment to be side-by-side with our members throughout their financial journey.”
