Airport to hold hiring fair as it seeks to fill 600 jobs

The event is scheduled for Nov. 9 at Tampa International Airport.

TAMPA — With passenger traffic inching up toward pre-pandemic levels, Tampa International Airport needs to fill more than 600 positions and will hold a hiring fair Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for applicants.

Some 25 companies that do business at the airport, along with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, will conduct interviews for a wide range of full- and part-time jobs, according to a news release. Airlines, shops, restaurants, rental car companies and ground handling services, among others, are hiring.

"We’ve had great success with our hiring events this past year, and we're excited to continue growing our Tampa International Airport family as we aim to deliver the world-class guest experience that our passengers expect," states John Tiliacos, the airport’s executive vice president of operations and customer service, in the release. "For those looking to work at America's favorite airport, these positions offer an excellent opportunity to leave your mark as the first and last impression of our region for our guests."

The hiring fair takes place at TIA’s event space, between Airsides E and F, on Level 3 of the Main Terminal. In-person attendance is required, and parking will be validated. Applicants should bring multiple copies of their resumes along with a photo ID.

According to the release, TIA served 15,405,053 passengers during its 2021 fiscal year, which ran from Oct. 1, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2021. In its 2022 financial year, the airport expects to serve 20.6 million passengers, which is 7% below pre-COVID traffic numbers.
